Managing Director, Hedge Fund Portfolio Management Chief Investment Officer Dan Mill's operational focus is directing the hedge fund investment teams in Toronto and New York. These teams continuously monitor and assess potential hedge fund investments, as well as the funds in the portfolio, and are responsible for coordinating investment transactions. Mr. Mills works with his teams to develop investment recommendations for the investment committee and to confirm process integrity for the hedge fund oversight committee. Mr. Mills is a member of the management committee as well as the investment committee, which is responsible for constructing Northwater's model hedge fund portfolio and for determining the composition of client portfolios. Mr. Mills has 20 years' experience in capital markets, including substantial direct experience in trading, transaction management, mandate compliance, and risk management. Before joining Northwater in 1997, Mr. Mills was a senior portfolio manager with the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) where he managed and traded significant investment assets. Before OMERS, he managed branch administration, pooled funds, and mutual funds for National Trust and Canada Trust. Mr. Mills holds a BA in economics, administrative and commercial studies from the University of Western Ontario (London, Ontario). He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute and is a member of the Toronto CFA Society.
